EMU with Diesel Generator Car

(1) Select the track gauge. If 'Narrow Gauge' is checked, narrow gauge trains are designed.

(2) Select the technology level. If 'Apply State of the Art Technology' is checked, designed trains are more light weight and efficient.

(3) Select the train set type--Diesel Multiple Unit.

Click 'Next'.

(1) Specify the EMU formation. '3M3T' represents the consist of 3 motive cars and 3 trailer cars. The generator car is automatically added.

(2) Set the output of generator engine.

(3) Select 'Energy Storage System'.  (Paid version only)

(4) Set the fuel consumption. The unit is gram kw hour. (Paid version only)

(5) Set the fuel consumption when the engine is idle. The number is the permillage against the fuel consumption at maximum output.  (Paid version only)

(6) Set the starting traction force of the EMU. The number is the percentage against the standard setting.  (Paid version only)

Click 'Next'.

If the regenerative system is selected, the battery performance must be specified. (Paid version only)

(1) Set the battery capacity.

(2) Set the D.O.D. (Depth Of Discharge)

(3) Specify the battery usage. If 'Use as a Peak Supply' is checked, the total output increases.

Click 'Next'.

(1) Specify the designed speed. If the track gauge is narrow, the maximum speed is limited to 260km/h

(2) Specify the train characteristics. 
If 'High Speed Light-weight Train Set' is selected, more lighter weight and lower running resistance  is applied.

Click 'Next'.

  Click 'Next' and save the data.

If you wish to check the train performance, click 'Tractive Effort' or 'Acceleration' or 'Output at wheel'.
